Cristiano Ronaldo was under scrutiny last year in a tax evasion case. The Portuguese pledged innocence in the courtroom and the matter is sub-judice.
In a recent interview with La Sexta, the Real Madrid showbiz footballer reveals his encounter with the Spanish Police last year which came after him. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner was in Formentera with his family for his vacation. In the words of Cristiano himself; police came after the smallest boat in the flotilla.
“There are thousands of boats in Formentera and police with cameras boarded the smallest one, Cristiano Ronaldo’s one.”
Are we murderers or what?
I went up and asked: ‘what’s going on here?’
They had guns and cameras.
It annoyed me, but what are you going to do?”
Cristiano Ronaldo is confident that the tax issue will be settled soon and he is not worried about it. He has been framed before numerous times but has never been proven guilty. What the verdict will be in this case is yet to be seen.
“The only thing that there isn’t a solution for is death.
Everything else has a solution.
There are unfair things, but what are you going to do?
Spain looks after me.”
As of now, Cristiano Ronaldo is focused on the most important club game of the season. His side, Real Madrid plays against Liverpool tomorrow at 7:45 PM CET for the UEFA Champions League Final at Kiev, Ukraine.
